Evangelion are the oldest club in the Pro Evo Project and were formed in 2004. They are managed by the former Manager of Sweden, Ryan Kage. Although Kage is an Englishman, he led the Swedish team to the Word Cup Finals in 2002. Along with Shanghai, Evangelion are the only team to have qualified for every P.E.P tournament since its inception.
Evangelion are affiliated with Arsenal FC and operate an open trade policy where players from either club frequently represent one another. They are a proud club and fiercely traditional and have won over many a fan for the way they conduct their business. Such is the affection that Ryan Kage holds with Arsenal, if a player leaves the London club, they normally find their way out of Evangelion too.
Evangelion boast a tremendous team spirit formed primarily because Kage doesn’t care much for the ‘superstar’ status some footballers have. Instead, he signs players he admires and respects, and the philosophy worked when he guided them to their first P.E.P Title in P.E.P II. The team have finished as runners up on two other occasions and drew five games a piece in a best of ten series against Shanghai in 2006.
