Athletico Sporting Centrali were one of the original five teams signed to the Pro Evo Project and were formed as an affiliate of Italian powerhouse, Juventus. Although Athletico competed under the Athletico name, they wore the badge and colours of their Italian brethren.
However and possibly as a sign of things to come, Juventus were placed at the centre of the Italian match fixing scandal and because of their relegation to Serie B, disbanded their affiliate program with Athletico. ASC weren’t completely innocent though and because they refused to compete against Evangelion in P.E.P I, they were banned for a Year and had their P.E.P status revoked.
It was a sad era for the club and their fans and it was in their absence in P.E.P III that the title was fought between their two closest rivals, Shanghai and Evangelion.
With this episode completely behind them, a new badge, kit and backroom staff in place, Athletico will be looking to make up for lost time. Before their exile, they showed their potential finishing third in P.E.P I and P.E.P II. They have always been able to attract the best players and the new team will be unified by the past controversy and seek to etch their names in Athletico folklore by helping them win the tournament for the very first time.
Athletico have been reinstated to the Pro Evo Project and will be competing in P.E.P IV
